Led by Jennifer Wilkinson, the group comes together in India’s capital, Delhi before travelling to Chandigarh and on to Amritsar to experience the magnificence of the Golden Templeis not only a central religious place of the Sikhs but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. We continue on to Shimla in the foothills of the Himalaya, with the greater Himalayan range, often referred to as the “roof of the world”, towering above. We explore the hill station of Shimla to discover the remnants of the British Raj, now blended with local traditions and way of life. We delight in the luxury of the beautiful Wildflower Hall for three nights where we can explore the foothills of the Himalaya in some beautiful day walks and indulge in their luxury spa treatments.
We continue on to Kolkata, a city steeped in colonial history and architecture but with a vibrant and captivating cultural and culinary core. It exudes charm and character with its decaying mansions, abundant street food and lively markets. It was home to many freedom fighters and intellectuals during India’s battle for Independence and this strong and proud character continues today in its people.
After spending time in the magnificent tea country of Darjeeling and the stunning Glenburn Tea Estate, we return to Delhi for two nights.

My visit to India with Epicurious Travel’s Himalayan Odyssey exceeded every expectation, every day. Jennifer’s understanding of India, combined with the specialist knowledge of local guides, provided the background to two of the most enthralling weeks of my life. The itinerary covered everything from gritty street life to privileged luxury, opening up a view of India that I cannot imagine finding any other way. Incredibly beautiful scenery, wonderful food, the opportunity to meet local residents in their homes and workplaces and a truly congenial group of like-minded people to share it with made this trip a one-off that I will never forget. Bravo Epicurious… your’e all class!

This was our second trip to India with Epicurious Travel but our first with a group. We were a little apprehensive having never travelled like this before however we found out quickly that we were with like-minded travellers and friends.
The Himalayan Odyssey was a fantastic tour to explore the north of India. From the “wow” moments of the Golden Temple to sunrise over Kangchenjunga and the majestic Himalayas we experienced many emotions. India effortlessly gets under your skin and leaves you wanting more.
The tour arrangements were fantastic and Jennifer was great fun. Jennifer and the Epicurious team made our tour seamless and comfortable. It was great to share our experience with new friends. We are small group tour converts.Himalayan Odyssey, Katrina and Andrew Wannan March 2019
