This 13-day food, wine and walking tour across Northern Italy commences in elegant Milan, continuing to the Franciacorta wine region, Lake Garda, the magnificent Dolomites and the charming Prosecco region. Our final destination in this luxury tour of Northern Italy is the inimitable city of Venice where we stay in a beautiful luxury palazzo facing the Grand Canal.

Food and wine is an integral part of this culinary tour in Italy, along with luxury accommodation including the extraordinary Mandarin Oriental in Milan and Gardena Grodnerhof in the Dolomites. DAY Milan - the perfect landing and starting point
This elegant commercial and cultural city is often misjudged and passed by but at Epicurious travel we value it for its stunning architecture, history, art, cuisine and fashion. The magnificent Duomo is a highlight along with its famous Opera House, La Scala and it is of course home to Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. Risotto alla Milanese and Campari are legendary in this fascinating city.
DAY Franciacorta wine region
A region for the best sparkling wine production in Italy. It is not prosecco but rather a premium sparkling wine made using the traditional "metodo classico" (like Champagne).
In the heart of Lombardy, Franciacorta is produced in a strictly defined area near Lake Iseo, between Milan and Verona. Its unique terroir creates ideal conditions for cultivating grapes and crafting refined, complex sparkling wines.
DAY Lake Iseo
A hidden gem offering a peaceful and authentic experience where we are treated to a delicious lunch of local lake fish including sardines. Monte Isole the island in the middle of the lake is the perfect location for a lakeside walk exploring the village and its fishing industry.
DAY Lake Garda
The largest lake in Italy and certainly one of its most spectacular with beautiful towns dotted around its perimeter and ferries that criss cross between them during the day. Much to explore and perfect to relax.
DAY Bolzano
Bolzano is a vibrant alpine city where Austrian and Italian cultures merge. Set in a valley surrounded by hilly vineyards this small city is a great transition into the region of South Tyrol/Alto Adige where the natural landscape and the local population opens a new perspective of Italy. Signage is now in three languages; Italian, German and Ladin.
DAY The Dolomites
During this transition into a new and different landscape we visit an outstanding small vineyard that everyone loves. We then head into the magnificent Dolomites and the city of Ortizei our home for the next 4 nights.

DAY Venice
I am sure many have you have visited Venice before but on our two nights we focus on the lesser known districts staying in a very special small Palazzo that has a garden facing the Grand Canal and a private dock.
A great last night dining in the hotel's Michelin star restaurant is a delightful finale.
