EPIcURIOUS travel brings you a quintessential Indian experience. This exciting journey embraces the rich culture, sumptuous food, breathtaking architecture and landscapes and endearing people of the Indian subcontinent.
We commence in Delhi, the capital city of India with its Mughal monuments and Imperial City built by the British. Delhi is a heady experience of old and new, renowned for its architectural masterpieces, unbeatable shopping and boundless, vivid energy.
Our next destination is Agra and the majestic Taj Mahal then on to Ranthambore National Park where you have the opportunity to spot the majestic Bengal Tiger and enjoy down time in nature. Our journey continues through the stunning landscape of Rajasthan with its fabulous palaces and forts and important cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur where we stay in heritage palaces and stylish hotels.
Mumbai is our next destination, which today is more than just a metropolis; it is an enigma of striking contrasts with mud huts and skyscrapers, age-old traditions and high fashion, the industrialist’s haven and Indian moviemakers’ Hollywood. The city is constantly changing whilst also standing still.
We continue our journey south to Hyderabad the capital city of the state of Telangana. Hyderabad is a fascinating mix of Muslim and Hindu cultures and has a legacy of both Persian and Islamic influences due to the long rule of the Nizams. This legacy pervades all aspects of Hyderabadi culture, from the way the language is spoken, the appreciation for the arts and its diverse food culture. It is the home of the famous Hyderabad biryani.
We head south to Kerala where we spend time in the city of Cochin and cruise the divine backwaters, a delightful way to conclude this magical journey.
Designed to give you a taste of this intoxicating and alluring country, this small group journey is a marvellous way to see the very best of India’s highlights in a relaxed and luxurious manner.
After many years of travelling to India for both work and pleasure, exploring new destinations and uncovering the most outstanding experiences for her guests, our Director Jennifer Wilkinson will once again lead this small group journey to the Indian subcontinent.
