An intimate introduction to Lisbon and surrounds

From its starting point in the national capital Lisbon, we travel north in our private vehicle to explore the beautifully preserved Convento of Tomar, before continuing to medieval Coimbra. The granite peaks of the Serra da Estrela provide a dramatic backdrop for our exploration of the surrounding valleys.

We spend time sampling local produce at a celebrated local winery in the stunning Douro Valley before arriving in picturesque Porto, a vibrant blend of ornate baroque and medieval buildings, stately bridges and charismatic locals.

Walk the historic Portuguese Camino de Santiago

During the second week of our Portuguese Camino tour, the walking distances increase in time to cross into Spain and enjoy the undulating Galician countryside, walking an ancient Roman road through tiny hamlets, discovering ancient grain stores, railroad viaducts and an abundance of rivers and estuaries before we reach the historic Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela.

Be enveloped by nature on the Portuguese Camino

Our diverse trail encompasses woodlands of eucalypt and pine, small villages and towns, lush vineyards and apple orchards as well as seaside walks offering expansive views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Regional culinary exploration

We enjoy fabulous meals at a range of charming restaurants and stay in a selection of beautiful, historic hotels and paradors, including a medieval fortress, an 18th century paper mill and a centuries old royal hospital.
